Recently, the movie "the social network" was released in theaters. If the movie got fairly good reviews, the title of the movie is misleading regarding the actual state of social networks. If Facebook wants to become THE social networking platform, the reality of online social networks is different. The Web is populated with an infinite number of social networks, all customized to the specific needs of the group that it shelters.
Our online social activities are shattered across the Web, which makes it difficult to be followed. I chosed to use Friendfeed, a very well designed Website, which purpose is to syndicate the sum of your online activities on one site, so that your friends can start to follow you from there. Friendfeed was bought by Facebook about a year ago. If you would like to follow me on Friendfeed, look for Didier Gaultier.
